Our story

Kunc Vinum

Our small winery is located in town Hustopeče in South Moravia, which is known for its deep wine history.

The cellar where our beautiful wines are born comes from the 1970s and was built by my father, who, like me, was a veterinarian with a big wine heart.

I have been acquiring my relationship with vineyards and wine since I was a child when I helped my parents. At the age of fifteen, I was given the opportunity to make my first wine, which gave me a tangible proof of my relationship with the winery. In the following years my relationship turned into a lifelong great passion.

My first experience of wine came from my father, who sadly died early, so I got more information from friends and acquaintances. However, I have had a major impact on my travels to the wine regions of France, Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, which I regularly attend. My friend and great winemaker Mirek Hrabal also influenced me a lot. In 2006 I successfully passed the SZPI tasting exams. For several years I have been co-organizing an international wine exhibition, the World Wine Duel in Hustopeče.

We run the winery together with my wife, who takes care of the day to day business side of the company and we could not do without the help of other family members. All work in the vineyard is done by hand, except the ploughing, which we do with the help of horse power.

Our vineyards were given to us by our parents and were planted in 1970 and 1974. The wine obtained from these old shrubs has a specific character and depth of taste. We could say that they form the backbone of our product. For this and the result it gives we are extremely grateful to our parents.

The rest of our production we buy from selected wine trails. Stop by, we will be more than happy to share our wines with you.

Our wines

We focus on making traditional varieties of white and red wines that come from our own 50-year-old vineyards.

These are varieties of Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Walnut Riesling and St. Laurent.

You can also taste other varieties such as Pálava, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon, and Chardonnay. Red wines include Cabernet Sauvignon, Frankovka, André and Pinot Noir.

These wines are made from grapes of selected lines of the Mikulov and Velké Pavlovice regions.

We will be happy to welcome you, whether you just stop by for a drink or decide to spend more time with us.

You will always be personally attended to by one of the owners of the winery.

You can choose from:

• Basic tasting, where you can taste 8 samples of bottled wines, we will offer you bread or cheese to go with it and the tasting session is 1 - 1.5 hours. Price 450,- CZK / pers.
• Extended tasting, where you can taste 11 samples of bottled wines, we will prepare cold refreshments for your meal (cold meats, cheeses, spreads, pastries). Duration of the tasting is 3 hours. Price 750,- CZK / person.
